Sam Foti Adds a New Leaf to Metropolitan Life Insurance

November 24th, 2009 by

Sam Foti has had a successful career as Vice President of Metropolitan Life Insurance Company. He held this prestigious position for five years, from 1983 to 1988. Even rising to this top echelon of the company, he had accumulated vast experience of working at various tiers of the company from 1974 to 1982.

During the tenure of Samuel J. Foti as Vice President, the Metropolitan Life Insurance continued its strides towards expansion and regaining its lost glory vis-à-vis its arch rival, the Prudential Insurance. Metropolitan successfully launched in 1984 its famous ‘whole life plus’ policy that guaranteed up to one-third additional coverage for its clients without levying any extra premium.

Samuel Foti ’s personal endeavours continued rebuilding Metropolitan as a fast growing company in 1985, when the latter acquired Charter Security Life Insurance Companies. This out-of-the-box expansion measure helped Metropolitan take over the line of Single Premium Deferred Annuities, in addition to making a number of other acquisitions, both in-country and abroad. By the end of the year, Metropolitan had become the number one company amongst the top seven Hispanic markets. The next year heralded its strategy of developing the Asian-American marketing. Thus, under the new leadership, Metropolitan became a thriving insurance enterprise.
